The West.
Symbol of dreams. Landscape of possibilities. Vision Quest for the photographer.
The two blend together. Photographing in the West is truly walking in the light for me. It is spiritual in a very basic way. It seems much easier out West to be in the moment. Thoreau wrote of being present in the here and now as creating “a moment’s monument.” I feel that way when I release the shutter: 1/250th of a second of geologic time, and if I have prepared myself maybe it is a monument to that split second.
